Akron Art Museum
The Akron Art Museum is the leading museum of modern art in Northeast Ohio, with over 3,300 works produced from 1850 to the present in the permanent collection. The Akron Art Museum is currently closed for expansion. Check their website for information about programs and events being hosted throughout Northeast Ohio while construction takes place. The new Akron Art Museum is expected to open in late 2006 or early 2007.

Art House, Inc. nurtures involvement in the arts and culture, providing opportunities for people to create, learn and communicate while encouraging self-expression, thereby strengthening the community. Brecksville Center for the Arts (BCA)
Brecksville Center for the Arts offers classes in the fine, applied and performing arts for pre-schoolers, children, teens and adults. In addition the Center organizes arts travel and special events, several exhibition openings a year and their "Shoppe for Art" features the work of local artists for sale. One of the Center's biggest annual events, which takes place in November is "Heartfelt Holiday," a festival of art, music, food and the work of more than 80 artists.

Canton Artists for Creative Awareness (CAFCA)
The Canton Artists for Creative Awareness is a new gallery in downtown Canton. The gallery highlights local artists, with one show per month featuring national/international artists. Earlier this year, CAFCA featured 15 local artists and Qassim Ali, an exiled Iraqi bedouin/landscape artist and Douglas E. Winter, Virginia author and photographer. The gallery's goal is to eventually offer free classes in music, art and creative writing.

Cleveland Photographic Society (CPS)
The Cleveland Photographic Society was formed in 1887 and has operated continuously ever since. The club has 80 members and its own permanent clubroom. The objectives of the society are to promote interest in all aspects of photography, as an avocation and recreation and to further cordial relations among its members. CPS conducts photo competitions, workshops, fieldtrips, and social activites. Photography courses are offered twice a year--Fundamentals of Good Photography and Digital Imaging Workshop.

Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society (CVPS)
The Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society is a program of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association in cooperation with the National Park Service. CVPS offers a wide range of educational photographic programs including monthly presentations, workshops, photo walks, photo tours and an annual contest. Many events are free and open to non-members and the public.

Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA)
Founded in 1979, the Firelands Assocation for the Visual Arts is an independent, non-profit art organization in Oberlin, Ohio dedicated to enhancing public appreciation of and participation in the visual arts through exhibitions and related educational and community activities for all ages. FAVA presents changing exhibits of high quality artwork in a variety of styles and media. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Peninsula Art Academy
The Peninsula Art Academy is a not-for-profit IRS 501(c)(3) organization promoting the Arts in the Village of Peninsula and throughout Northeast Ohio. Their new facility is in the popular Village of Peninsula's Historic District at 1600 West Mill Street, with areas for fine art gallery, performance stage, working artist's studios, art instruction and many educational programs. Stocker Arts Center/Lorain County Community College
Stocker Arts Center opened in 1980 as a resource for arts and humanities in Lorain County and the Greater Cleveland area. Each year, the Center presents several series: performing artists, student matinees, films and gallery exhibitions. The gallery exhibitions feature a mixture of professional community, faculty and student artists. The performances presented include professional touring theatre, music and dance attractions from throughout the United States and beyond.
